Sorry to do this to you everyone, after just putting out a great DVD9 version. I wasn't sure this would happen at the time I put out the DVD9 because making the entire 6 movie High Def saga universaly available is a MAJOR burdon and a time killer. For the hardcore SW lovers this bigger and better version should be a no brainer. There is also some color de-saturation on this release because if you noticed, people that live in space shouldn't have sun burns! I took the liberty of knocking the color back a few notches so things should look a little more natural or subdued and "closer" to how they originally looked before it was revised in 2004 re-release. It's harder to restore color saturation with non-state of the art hardware then it is to fuck it up with state of the art hardware. ;) I left the Jabba scene alone, not so much because I like it but because Harrison Ford is a cool dude and is one of the few great movie icons left in the world and didn't deserve to be edited out. This edition isn't meant to be a fan edit or some kind of restoration. I simply did to it what I personaly thought I would want it to be as my final archival edition to always watch this point moving forward. As an added bonus I am including an 5.1 AC3 file with EX flags to remux with for those of you prefering a Dolby Digital track and for whatever reason can't get ac3filter to work. Just demux the feature and remux with this. It should work ok. If you grabbed my previous release of A New Hope WMVHD DVD9 you may have noticed a slight audio sync problem (as reported by Usenet people) and a smaller file size/lower bitrate. This new Version 2.0 fixes all that with even better picture quality due to the new broadcast source, higher bitrate of 14MB and oh yeah, Han has his balls back. This is my new favorite version! Thought I would share it with the world. These 12+GB editions are the versions I initially indented to do but I was so anxious to get them done I decided to do lower bitrate DVD9's first and to revisit them later on and do at higher quality if possible. So now, welcome to later on! Moving on to old news... The source for this release is a fresh glitch free German Premier HD broadcast posted May 15th 2007 by harlis - Thank you! You are a hero to many! The release as posted by harlis included the infamous German opening crawl, German subtitles for Greedo & Jabba and 25fps run time in addition to English and German 5.1 audio tracks and a third track with audio commentary. It defaulted to German 5.1 for most users and was not very playable as it stuttered badly on some systems. Not to mention the nearly 20GB file size! To make this English friendly I used the opening crawl and English subtitles from the British Sky Broadcasting version originally posted January 5th 2007 by 'BK, thank you for that great release 'BK! That edition also had the 25fps speed up issue. I time adjusted both releases and edited out the German crawl/subtitles and replaced it with the English. I also replaced the audio with the DVD 5.1 and planted one easter egg within the movie, can you spot it? I matched the entire running length frame by frame to the source DVD to be certain the audio never goes out of sync. This is necessary as some broadcasts whether it be their source or transmission anomalies either lose a few frames or gain a few frames forcing the entire sync to shift. The following excerpt was taken from the FAQ on the Xbox 360 development team regarding WMV-HV / VC-1 encodes and the latest Spring update if you own the XBOX 360: 3.
