The town of Onaldo was once a beautiful town with majestic plains and wondrous skies, and everyone in Onaldo had kind spirits and a giving heart. Onaldo was the place to find refuge if you were harmed or needed help. One girl from Onaldo, named Elle, took the opportunity to adventure on a journey to a place called Futera. Futera was the place all Onaldians went when they were ready to help more people. Elle found a very nice path to adventure on and decided she would take the path all the way to Futera. Unknown to Elle, this path was full of bandits who were vicious and mean. These bandits would do absurd things to anyone traveling the path. While Elle was adventuring along the path, she saw a man who was having difficulty walking because of his injured leg. Feeling bad for the man, Elle went over to him to help his wounds. When she approached him, a troop of bandits jumped out of nowhere. The man was just a decoy for the bandits. They beat her, robbed her, and left her with a huge box to carry. When Elle tried to get up, she felt a huge weight on her back. But that didn’t stop Elle. Elle brought forth all of her strength and stood up. As she standing up, a note out from her pocket. She quickly grabbed the note and read it. The note was from the bandits. It said that if she did not carry the box, the box would grow and grow until it became too big. If this box grew too big, it could gain the strength to move on its own and kill Elle. Elle put the note back into her pocket, not thinking anything of it. This box was heavy for Elle, but she managed to carry it and continued on the path, carrying the box. While Elle was traveling the path, she came upon a small girl who had also been attacked by the bandits. When she came closer, she saw the little girl had a very large box and was struggling to keep herself upright. Because Elle had such a sweet spirit, she took it upon herself to care for the little child. Elle and the little girl neared the top of a hill. The child got weaker and weaker as the approached the top of the hill, until finally she collapsed under the weight of her box. Elle dropped her box at the top of the hill and lifted the box off of the little girl’s back. When she picked up the box, the little girl let out a sigh of relief and got up to her feet. Elle put the box down next to her own box, at the top of the hill, and set up a camp for her and the little girl. After a few days of tending to, the little girl gain strength enough to carry her box again. But Elle did not want the little girl to carry her own box, because her box was heavier than Elle’s, and Elle did not want the little girl to fall again. So Elle took the heavier box, and the little girl took the lighter box, and they continued on the path. Elle and the little girl became great friends, both linked to each other by the boxes they carried. But one day while Elle was resting, the little girl got tired of carrying Elle’s box around and wanted to play without the box. So while Elle rested, the little girl dropped Elle’s box, and ran off to play. When Elle woke up, she saw the little girl had run off. Elle called out for the little girl, but she was nowhere to be found. Elle was crushed. She could not carry two boxes at once, but she could not wait for the girl. So Elle put down the little girl’s box and picked up her own. She continued on the path, leaving the little girl’s box where the little girl had left hers. Elle did not notice that the box had grown bigger because the little girl had left it lying around for too long. When Elle picked up the box, it was heavier than she expected. Elle struggled under the weight of her box, but she went along the path anyway. Elle grew tired and needed to rest. So Elle sat down near a river next to the woods, to cool herself off. As she was washing her face, Elle saw the little girl crawling towards her. Elle’s heart felt for the little girl, and she ran over to see that the girl’s box had also gotten bigger because it was sitting around too long. Elle set her box down by the river and took the little girl’s box. It was just as heavy as Elle’s, but Elle did not notice because she was worried about the little girl so much. After mending the little girl’s aching bones, the little girl got up, stole the box back from Elle, and ran off into woods. Elle stood staring into the woods. Just as a small tear rand down Elle’s face, she remembered she had left her box by the river. She ran over to it only to notice that it had grown again, and it was growing even bigger and bigger. Elle quickly picked up the box to stop it from growing, but the box was too heavy for Elle. She collapsed to the ground, with the box on her back, right next to the path. Elle saw several other Olandians pass her on the path. She tried to reach out to them, but they did not want to carry such a large box, so they ignored her. The box was slowly destroying Elle, and Elle knew it. If no one helped Elle soon, the box would kill Elle.
