Introduction: Welcome to the exciting business of mining solar flares and sunspots for energy! Link the magnetic vortices of sunspots, draining their rich supplies of energy and create new sunspots to exploit! As a competing faction within the Solar Energy Commission (SEC) you will attempt to construct the most extensive and profitable sun spot mining network to help foster the rich consumer lifestyles back on Earth. The comfort and decadence of trillions of people depends on YOU! Setup Changes: 1) Place the New Cities in the darker yellow regions of the board such that no two New Cities are closer than three hex spaces apart. 2) Place 5 goods cubes on each city. 3) Each player starts with $8. 4) The 3 track tiles from the Italy expansion may be used but are not required. Rules Changes: 1) Shares are worth $4 and 25 shares may be sold per player company. 2) All track costs are $3 per tile, no matter the tile type or location. If used, the 3 track complex tiles from the Italy expansion may only be used to upgrade other complex tiles. 3) As many track tiles may be built as wished per turn within the following limits: a) Only compleat links may be built. b) Track that is part of a compleated link may be upgraded with a town tile or complex track in the normal fashion as if a town were already present at that location, no matter who owns that track. Such a tile is them marked as a town and behaves in all ways as a town. Simple track may not be used for towns. c) All track built on a single turn must be contiguous and only a single connected link may be built per player turn. The built link may join two cities, two towns, or a city and a town and may pass through any number of towns en-route. It may not pass through a city. 4) A Restationing player may move a New City to a town location before or after their legal track build. A $25 coin is put at the original location and acts as an uncoloured city for future deliveries and track building. Goods cubes are not moved when restationing. A town which is immediately adjacent to another city may not be restationed. 5) Player's trains now have a Links size and a Links Capacity: a) Links Capacity denotes how many goods cubes may be carried on a single delivery. All delivered goods cubes must start at the same location but may end at different cities. Each delivered goods cube generates income in the normal fashion. b) When passing on a delivery a player may increase their Links or Links Capacity as available. When increasing Links, Links Capacity is reset to 1. c) Expenses for Links and Links Capacity are as noted. 6) With Locomotive a player may make one of their two deliveries as if either their Links or their Links Capacity were one step larger within the limits of the available Links and Links Capacity values. Links stops at 6. 7) (Four or more players only) The Engineer may lay two track tiles during their build phase for free. 8) When a goods cube is delivered, the top goods cube from either the source or destination city is moved from the Goods Production Chart to the map. When multiple cubes are delivered the replacement goods cubes must all go the same city. Typically all replacements go to the source or destination city. If the source is uncoloured and the goods are delivered to different locations, then all replacement goods must go to the first city delivered to. 9) There is no Urbanisation or Production action or Production phase.
