=========================================================================== Hey all :) -- I'd usually use Cvsup, but decided to finally bite the bullet & go with portsnap,(ver. 1.1,[Latest]) for better security,(portinstall'd this weeks version) but it just WON'T friggen work for me... and Google is of no help, neither is the Handbook :( -- Some of the errors reported can be seen below. ... The below be a sampling of errors I've been receiving at different attempts over the last few days, some errors be completely different & come from running portsnap just seconds/minutes apart from last attempts :( -- Help please -- THANKS :D Ps. Results from a proper googled phrase search of main keywords. ==> Your search - +portsnap +"invalid snapshot tag." - did not match any documents. WTF! Nothing in the entire google archives for this simple & consise phrase? Did the error messages just recently change with latest portsnap,.. seriously, WTF!? PPs. I'm currently running with a system base,(I'd guess you'd call it) from 5.3 Release. Though I'm up-to-date with security & any apps I use frequently that benefited from updating etc.. THANKS AGAIN FOR ANY AND ALL HELP :) =========================================================================== theycallmebob# pwd /usr/local/portsnap theycallmebob# ls -alF total 10 -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 0 Aug 4 06:00 .package.this.directory drwxr-xr-x 28 root wheel 512 Aug 4 06:00 ../ -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 451 Aug 4 06:05 pub.ssl -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 54 Aug 12 01:34 serverlist_full -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 54 Aug 12 01:34 serverlist_tried -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 0 Aug 12 01:34 tag.new -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 0 Aug 12 01:34 serverlist drwxr-xr-x 2 root wheel 512 Aug 12 01:34 ./ theycallmebob# theycallmebob# cat serverlist_full 1 10 portsnap1.FreeBSD.org 1 10 portsnap2.FreeBSD.org theycallmebob# theycallmebob# cat serverlist_tried 1 10 portsnap1.FreeBSD.org 1 10 portsnap2.FreeBSD.org theycallmebob# =========================================================================== theycallmebob# portsnap fetch Looking up portsnap.FreeBSD.org mirrors... 2 mirrors found.
