Micah Fitzgerald English AP 11 Period 3 With a satisfying click and whirr, my newest project comes to life. It may seem unimportant to some, and taken for granted by others, but to me computers are the most interesting thing imaginable. My name is Micah and I am a computer nerd. Or at least thats what I am to people who dont know me. I spend most of my time in front of a computer. But Im not surfing the Internet, or talking to friends, Im trying to learn all that I can about my favorite hobby. Computers are hugely complex and I want to know every thing about how they work. When most people see a computer, they see a plastic box that lets them type school reports or check their email. When I see one, I see a portal to more information then I could ever consume. I see a never-ending book that I could read forever. I spend my time thinking about something cool I want to do and then I set out to do just that. I hear all the time about stolen identities and I want to know how I can stop identity theft and protect others from it. Security also plays a part in protecting me from malicious hackers and the prying eyes of large corporations that have decided that they are above the law and can do whatever they want to make a buck. This is another reason that I support open-source software, along with
