Proposal I would like for you to thoroughly read and greatly consider this entire proposal, for it is factual and truly what I believe. There are a few stereotypes for teenagers; one being that they are ignorant know-it-all's, with no understanding of values whatsoever. This does not surprise me one bit, because of the horrible choices that many have made. Such as driving drunk, or smoking marijuana during school hours. The reason those choices were made was because of their level of maturity, and emotional environment. Most parents nowadays believe they are laying down the law, by not letting their teenage sons or daughters responsibly drink or smoke marijuana once in a while. Really, they are physically pushing them towards acting out and rebelling against their parents, disrespecting them and creating a web of lies. There are some parents who choose wiser and give their teenagers some breathing room, letting them have "fun", thus not causing disrespect and mistrust. This creates a stronger bond between the parent and child. Weed is the least harmful drug out there, it presents no signs of addiction, and little to no harm to your body. Theoretically speaking, smoking tobacco is more harmful to your health than smoking marijuana weekly. Instead of going driving drunk and partying who knows where, a marijuana smoker tends to relax with a group of friends, and not endanger his or her health. There are too many successful people that have smoked pot in their life more than once to mention. Marijuana expands the mind, raising the bar of creativeness of the individual. The brain is not "fried" by marijuana either, "The claim that marijuana kills brain cells is based on a speculative report dating back a quarter of a century that has never been supported by any scientific study". Neither is it a gateway drug, "Marijuana does not cause people to use hard drugs. What the gateway theory presents as a causal explanation is a statistic association between common and uncommon drugs, an association that changes over time as different drugs increase and decrease in prevalence". Weed is clearly a harmless stimulant, where the only side affects are to be happy, hungry, and sleepy. I do value my family, education, and friends. I have grown to understand that my maturity level is a lot higher than most, I have proven being capable of smoking marijuana and keeping my grades up. Smoking marijuana responsibly is one of the most enjoyable activities I would like to continue doing for the rest of my life. Quoted from, http://www.drugpolicy.org/marijuana/factsmyths/
