I ended up getting distracted, so Sammie took over for me. It's really entertaining between me and Lux XD If you can't vote, let me know (PM me in-game or @mail me there) and I'll fix it. It didn't want to let me leave options blank for unlimitedness. ============================ RustleRustle. RustleRustle. Something is in the bushes. Something that is not native to Kanto. Who knows how it got here- but there it is. A giant blue.. Worm! Its poking out of the bushes making soft little snuffling sounds, as if exploring this strange new world. The night-time moon shined down, dappling moon-light on the grass. The Rustling Worm creature moves along through the bushes carefully. Very. Carefully. Spore was snoozing in her little grass-mound, having been just a liiittle lazy about making her usual sleeping-hole for the day when she drifted awake. The bright leaves on her head twitched as she rolled over with a squeak, then blinked and rubbed her eyes with previously mentioned leaves. Blinking a little, she looked skyward and saw darkness, just in time! Toddling forward a bit, starting to look for yummynoms, she saw a blue... something. It was a lot bigger than any... thing she'd seen in a while. ... She thought. Something sparkled nearby, Ooh! A berry! Quickly, before any annoying Hoothoots or late-night Pidgeys, saw it, she quickly pounced on it with a supposed-to-be fierce, but in reality totally adorable and squeaky, growl. Lux's nose turns slowly towards this yummynomming sounds, making a very curious 'Hrrrump?' sound, and stepping out of the bushes. Aha! Its some kind of small Elephant looking thing. Slowly, Lux walks up over towards this creature he's never seen before- That worm on his face, a nose- apparently- snuffles curious at Spore. The small tail wiggles back and forth, as it looks at the berry that Spore is cutely attacking. Curious! 'Is good food?' The somewhat shorter than average Phanpy wonders- though all the unenlightened might here was "Phan?" Being totally immersed in the attackings of the berry, Spore never heard anything of the odder other Pokemon creeping up behind her. Dropping the "fierce" squeak, the small Oddish squeaked with happiness as she quickly ate through about a quarter of the berry (it was a fairly large thing) when the other Pokemon spoke behind her, "Is good food?" A very surprised scream, actually really loud squeak, came from the blue body as it tumbled over the berry in fright. It took her a moment to right herself and whirl around, successfully nearly falling over in her excitement, then squeakily tell off the other... thing. "What you do that for?! You want steal food?! Is my berry! You no ha-Ooh." Then she saw the face of the Pokemon that surprised her. Was it something she could it that was in the middle of it's face? Curiously, Spore waddled up to the other Pokemon and stared at it, her little... head..? body..? tilting as she looked it over. Hmm... Maybe. It's a possibilty. Then she lunged at it, nomming for all her worth. Lux's poor nose is attacked! And, well, As perhaps one might expect flailing occurs. Along with bucking and trumpeting! With all its might! (And indeed, the little Phanpy is as strong as any of his fellows) 'Lemme go! Lemme go! Ow! My nose! Ow!" hind legs are kicked into the air as he begins to buck and run through the brush. 'Treeeooooo! Phaaaannn!' Trumpeting and struggling continues! Oh dear, oh no. Spore is suddenly knocked silly as the poor creature whose nose she attacked understandably freaks out as she latches on. With very little, in both meanings of the phrase, teeth. Somehow she manages to stay on with swirling eyes while the poor frightened creature bucks and trumpets noisily and crashes around, back and forth between grass and bush. Then suddenly! Little Spore goes flying! A bright green tousle against the dark sky is seen moving at high speeds through the air for a little while. A very faint whistle might be heard if you strain as it disappears. Then a small "Splash!" a moment later. At least it was a soft landing? In another clearing not too far away, the Oddish is laying rather dazed in just-deep-enough water for her to have splashed into. Lux watches as he almost beans a Pidgeotto with a small Oddish. Nodding to himself he hears a sploosh! Ohno! Suddenly, Lux's noble spirit gets the better of him and he barrels through the forest towards the sounds of the sploosh. Looking for a swirly eyed Oddish who wanted to nom his nose. He does have to admit- to himself- its a tasty nose. 'You are okay?' Lux wonders. Nyuhnyuhnyuh... Spore's eyes rotate at an even pace, nothing too insane, as she bobs on the surface of the water. For a moment, all you can hear is the quiet chirping of nighttime insects, then... CRASHCRASHCREAKBREAKCRASHTHUMPTHUMPCRASH!!!! And maybe a couple of small explosions. But not entirely certain if you could hear those over the crashing and other noises. It sounds like an entire herd of--What's that blue thing over the-CRASHCRASHCRASHBREAKCRASHBANGCRASH!!! Oh. It's that Phanpy from earlier. Certainly seems to be in a rush to get somewhere, hm? Well, anyway, back to the Oddish. The darkish blue-bodied pokemon simply bobs on the water slightly, then as the small paciderm makes it way closer, she bobs a little more enthusiastically. For a moment, all the young plant pokemon can see is hazy darkness... then.. something blue? making it's way to visibility. Make that... three blue somethings? "Mrrghnnrggnaaa?" Spore looks confusedly around as the world comes back to her. "Would you three stop dancing..? I'm trying to focus here..." Lux moves forward slowly- to gently poke the other blue pokemon- then jump back as if she might just explode! Tiny black eyes shine as he cocks his head to the side- before reaching out and taking Spore by an arm to help her stand up. He's as gentle as he can be- nose being used like a little hand. 'Phaaaan?' Or, 'We'll dance later. Now is time to see if you are okay. This place is weeiiirrd. I'm not from here." He says a lot in very little. Mostly, its ear flapping. Expressive ear-flapping. 'I'm Lux! Who're you?' Nyuhnyuh.. nyuh... nyuh... As Spore's eyes slowly start to stop spinning, allowing those odd dancing Pokemon to stop dancing, she feels her side slightly go squish~ as she gets poked. Oh... Spore blinks, There's only one of them she sees after a moment. "Nyaaaoo.." The little Oddish feels a slight tugging from teh top of her head and suddenly feels slightly weightless as she moves through the air for a moment, then feet touching the ground as she's carefully placed on teh ground. She vaguely hears the other thing speaking, knowing it's saying things, but she just can't understand it as she's a little distracted by the blueness of it. "Pwetty...." The gust of wind caused by the other's ears nearly bowls her over as she doesn't pay attention, having gone starry-eyed. She takes a small step... then another... and one more... okay, maybe another... Just staring... and staring.... "Oooh..." and staring.... Then her face starts to wrinkle, twitching slightly. "Nehhh... nehhh..." And... "neeehhh..." SNEEZE. "HAA-AACHOOO!!!" The squeak loud enough to echo almost clearly, frighting a couple Hoothoot from their quiet perches in it's wake. Finding himself watching a bowled over Oddish, Lux just looks confused. Confused and concerned. A step forward is taken- ear flapping stopped before there is a huge sneeze! Startled, its Lux's turn to run away- taking a dive into the bushes. Crash! The tiny Phanty peers out of the bushes- nose twitching as it raises into the air, to get a sense of what exactly Spore is up to. But there's water! And slowly Spore is forgotten in exchange for splashing in a puddle. She's not the only one with a short attention span! But wait! no time to think about it now. There was a sneeze! And, with such a huge nose- Lux nods over to Spore. 'Blessies'. Sammie slinks into the lowers branches of one of the yellow fruit trees upon hearing the commotion. She crouches comfortably on one of the wider branches, crossing her paws and letting ehr tail dangle behind, looking oddly like a content cat. She presses her ears back against her head, eying Lux warily. What the hell was a Phanpy doing in the Viridian Forest? She remains quiet, merely observing him for some time. Lux's nose is still twitching at the wind- but this is /water/. Water, as any Phanpy will tell you, is the best. Sploosh! Lux begins to splash around sticking his nose into the spring to jet water up into the air in a shower that glows iridescent in the moonlight. Weee! He seems /quite/ pleased with himself. This place- with the water! This is it. It'll be home. There are fruits! And Weird Oddish! And Berries.. And WATER. Another plume into the night. And a trumpet of success. The sound echoes off the trees, foreign in its timbre. It is not a native sound. If she had a brow, Sammie would quirk it. As she does not, she has to settle with giving the illusion by wincing shut one of her crystal blue eyes partway. She tilts her head a bit at the display, her ears sticking up more in curiosity. Finally, she calls, "Hey! Kid!" down to the Phanpy, shifting a bit in her spot on the branch. Lux's nose turns first. First, clearing itself of water on Lux's back- before the appendage snuffles at the air and seems to lock onto Sammie. The body follows, black eyes looking up at Sammie- head cocking to the side as it begins to walk up towards the sound. Ears flutter. "What now?" Lux wonders, looking up at Sammie for a moment. "You're Yellow." he offers, as way of stating the obvious. "And I'm Lux. Not Kid." Sammie gives Lux a kind of 'For reals?' look at the mention of her being yellow, but it quickly fades to , yet mild surprise as he states his name. "You lost or something? Where's your human?" she asks, her eyes glancing about the area as if searching for said trainer. Her fur bristles a bit, but she otherwise doesn't move despite her visibly heightened senses. It seems she really expected someone to be lurking around in the trees. "Don't have one." Lux replies to Sammie, "Why? Do you have one?" Lux wonders as he walks over to Sammie's tree and stands on his hind legs to try and get some of the fruit up there- his nose reaches uppppp. BUt he can't quite reach it. "I'm hungry." he says, with a bit of a frown. "What's your name?" the small Elephantish Pokemon wonders as he sits down on his hind quarters. Sammie doesn't answer him right away, and instead stands and plucks a fruit. She glances down, then drops it for Lux to take from the forest floor. She plops back down on the branch, this time on her rear, and idly begins to clean her ears. "Humans are vile," she states simply, licking a paw. "Don't tell me you walked all the way here. Where did you start from?" she asks, rubbing at her left ear, occasionally rewetting her paws. Lux perks! Fruit! With his trunk he smells at the new fruit. He's never had this one before. And then! Into his mouth it goes. He begins to chew away at it, happily eating the stuff. "I took a floaty island thing. Well. It had berries in it. And was wooden. And box shaped. And I was inside it. And I was eating- and then I was here. Humans saw me and I ran away." Instead of switching ears, Sammie begins washing her face. "A boat. You were on a boat," she says, closing her eyes as she drags her paws down the front of her face. "Interesting. Well, if you ever need some temorary shelter, don't hesitate to find me adn ask," she offers, standing to slip down the trunk of the tree. "I have some shelters around here for passing and lost pokemon. It's safe from Humans." She finally smiles at him as she pushes up onto her back feet. "Water and fruit provided with boarding." Lux has to think about this. He /does/ like fruit. And he /does/ like water. "Sure. A boat. Floaty Island thing. Either way, here I am. There's fruit here. And water, and that thing." he points back at Spore with his nose. "And you. And that seems like a good start. So. I'll stay here, and there. And eat fruit and drink water and play in puddles." he nods to himself. "And smell all the new weird smells around here." Sammie can't help but snort a bit. Ahh, youth. "You can do what you like, kid," she says, dropping back onto all fours and wander over to the spring. "If you ever find yourself in some trouble, just come find me. If I'm not around," she pauses to drink from the water. "Look for anyone with these clovers around their ear." she points to the ring of flowery clovers around one of her ears. They'd be glad to help as well." She glance over at a nearby tree, which happens to be sporting Pecha berries. She frowns a bit at it, then begins over to it. Lux's quiet as he just happily trots on after Sammie. Following quietly. He gives a bright smile to Sammie if she looks back. "What do the clovers mean? They look /delicious/." he offers, as way of compliment. And offer to eat them, should they require eating. "So. Why do you hate humans?" Sammie pauses at the base of the tree, frowning back at him a moment. "Clovers are just a flowery weed," she says, "I don't think they'd be very tasty." She then jumps up the trunk, her rodent claws making climbing very easy. She reaches the lowest branch and takes a seat on it, beginning to pull berries from it. She seems to have heard his question about humans, but makes no move to answer it. "If you never ate it, you can't be sure. You should try lots of things. Otherwise, you'll never know what you can do!" Lux offers, "Why do you hate humans? Did they hurt you? I'm told they're not all bad. Just some. But its okay. If they bother you, I can carry them away, how about that?" he offers, ever helpful. "Do you want me to shake that tree? I bet if I shake it, berries will fall off." "You can never know when things are poisonous," Sammie replies calmly, slowly gathering an armful of berries. "If you just eat things that look appealing, you'll end up dead somewhere before you know it." She slowly begins to drop the berries to the floor of the forest. "And no thanks, I prefer climbing. It's active and doesn't chance hurting the tree." She again ignores the questions about humans, and seems more interested in daintily dropping the berries to try and avoid bruising their skins. Lux just watches, looking up at Sammie. "Oh." he answers, after a moment. Curious.. he picks up one of these berries and puts it in his mouth. What a useful nose! He chews on it slowly, and nods. It tastes good! He likes it! "What's Climbing like?" he wonders, changing subjects. "I'd like to try sometime. I can climb rocks, but not straight up a tree." Sammie twitches gently when he eats one of the berries, and goes about picking a new one. "It's fun, I guess. I don't think you're really built for that kind of thing, though. You don't have claws on your feet," she says, dropping the fruit down to the little pile. She then begins down the tree. "You wouldn't have any grip. But there's no hurt in trying, I guess." Lux blinks up at Sammie, then begins to walk over to the waterhole, plopping down in the mud. Sploot. "I like mud." he says over to Sammie. "You're weird. But I like it. I bet we'll be best friends. Best. Friends." he says, as he begins to cover his blue body in brown mud. nodding. Mud feels nice. "Its different here then back where I was before. But I like it. Its warm!" Sammie laughs gently, beginning to gather up her fruit. "Maybe we will," she responds walking over towards the spring with her armful of pecha berries. "Kanto is pretty warm. It snows sometimes, but mostly on Mount Moon and higher altitude cities. Whenever it's cold enough to snow in the forest, the trees keep most of it off the ground." She smiles a bit. As the other Pikachu zips by she frowns heavily and calls, "Hey! Jackie, slow down before you hurt someone! Or yourself!" She groans a bit and shakes her head. "Reckless." Sammie smiles gently. "Well, it tastes like water, so," she says, quite obviously, heading over to the nearest tree. Drop carefully sets down ehr little pile, then crouches and begins to pull up grass. Lux watches as Sammie begins to pull up grass, following again. Covered in mud. "What're you doing now?" he wonders, as he watches. "Are you making a Salad? I saw humans eating a Salad in a town back there, in a food place." he nods again. "They all looked at me weird. Its like they've never seen a Phanpy before!" Sammie shakes her head. "Nope. The shelters I run need some maintenance in the rooms. The beds are getting too dry. Just gotta replace the grass is all," she says, pilling up the gras as she quickly pulls it up from the soil. "Why don't you grow more berries?" Lux then wonders, as he looks at the dirt and begins to dig. "You put a berry in the ground,a nd then you put water on it. Then they grow!" he offers, with a smile. See. helping. He's a helpful blue elephant. "What's your name? Did you tell me? Did a human try to catch you and throw one of those ball things at you? I saw that happen before. It looks scary." Sammie smiles at him. "A dense forest is a forest impossible to live in," she says simply, dropping more grass on the pile. Lux doesn't seem to understand that. not one bit. "So knock down a few trees and make secret paths!" he offers, with a smile. But- he's a brute force kinda pokemon. And.. doesn't realize everyone else can't just push their way through things. Sammie laughs gently and shakes her head, but drops the conversation so as to not start something. She then just goes about building her already rather good-sized pile of grass. Lux blinks over at Sammie, frowning deeply still. "Oh. Okay. I'll go find a place to sleep or something then. Have fun with your grassy-unmuddy places." Flop! back into his little hole he dug at the edge of the water-hole. Last edited by Spore (2009-07-08 00:19:31)
