When a character is made, the character begins the game with a "Lineage 2 Beginner's Guide". The Lineage 2 Beginner's Guide is a manual containing a basic explanation of Lineage 2. When a character dies while carrying out the tutorial quest, instead of being returned to the closest town, the character will now return to the starting point. In the area, a NPC who helps beginners has been placed so that while hunting, players may view information in the NPC conversation window. At the ports, the time left before each ferry boat arrives will be announced in a system message. In the graphics options, a glow effect has been added. This option requires a graphics card that supports Shader 2.0 or above. An anti-aliasing option has been added to the graphics options. In the game options, for the file format the screenshot is saved in, a selection between BMP, high-, mid-, and low-quality JPEG may be made. To protect the account and password from keylogging programs, a keyboard security option has been added. When using NT/2000/XP, if logged in as a user that is not the Administrator, the keyboard security ability cannot be automatically used. To enable this ability, first login with an account that has the Administrator's abilities, login to the game and check the box for keyboard security then reboot and login with the account that does not have Administrator privileges. When using Windows 98/ME, the option will be enabled regardless of the logged-in user's privileges. Sound-related Additions The places where background music is played and the music looping time have been adjusted so a variety of places will have music playing often. Phonetic sounds have been added to the tutorials to make it more convenient for new players. Appropriate sounds have been added to system messages. Interface sounds, new monster sounds, and new skill sounds have been added. Seven Signs-related background music and Sound Crystal-related music have been added. The system sounds and tutorial sounds may be adjusted in the audio options. Character Starting Point A beginner's guide has been placed at the starting point. The tutorial quest monsters have been placed at the starting point. The tutorial quest monster has been changed from the nepitir to the gremlin. Also, at the starting location, upon death or escape, instead of being moved to the closest town, one will restart at the starting point. When in the middle of trading, one can no longer pick up items. While in party and attempting to trade, if another person causes you to acquire an item, the tradee is cancelled and you will receive the item. When dividing up adena, a party member who is in the middle of trading will not receive a share. The /unstuck [Lineage Center's notes: I had previously translated it as '/escape'] command can be used now whether or not one is petitioning. Also, when using the /unstuck command, if it is determined the character is blocked and cannot move, the character will be moved instantly to a nearby region and in the case that also fails, then 5 minutes later, the character will be moved to the nearest town. After a consultation with a GM regarding a petition, a system has been added to allow for the evaluation of the petition. In the evaluation system, one may rate the GM's response to the petition as one of: Very Good - Good - Average - Bad - Very Bad. And one may enter a comment on how one felt about the response. In this way, with the use of the evaluation system, we will be attempting to improve the quality of our service.
