"I used to be a DBA and web developer during the dialup era. The industry
has changed and matured significantly since that time. Organizations seek
more than just a website with their name in flashing text scrolling
across the screen. We now have such concepts as content management systems,
graceful degradation, and semantic web development. Programmers now adhere
to a set of "web standards" that allow us to develop web sites that are
easily extended, re-configured, and re-styled. I have always enjoyed
software development and working with new technologies, some would say
that I have the geek bug."
