this works from the dialplan just fine:

exten => 810502,1,Playback(mailbox/r)

this also works from the dialplan:

exten => 810502,1,agi,test.pl

and this is what the agi script says:

#!/usr/bin/perl

use     strict;
use     Asterisk::AGI;

my $agi = new Asterisk::AGI;

$agi->stream_file("mailbox/r",'');


However, the file isn't played back.. the call is just silent and then eventually * gives the 'goodbye' message. The console prints the following:

    -- Executing AGI("Zap/1-1", "test.pl") in new stack
    -- Launched AGI Script /var/lib/asterisk/agi-bin/test.pl
    -- Accepting call from '775XXXX397' to '810502' on channel 0/1, span 1
    -- AGI Script test.pl completed, returning 0

so the script is being called, but it's not straming the gsm sound file. How come?

To add to this post, I have just tested the following:

#!/usr/bin/perl

print "STREAM FILE vm-youhave \"\"\n";


once again, nothing is played back to the caller.
