nano /etc/modprobe.conf add alias to second nic alias eth1 pcnet32
cd /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts
cp  ifcfg-eth0 ifcfg-eth1
nano ifcfg-eth1
make sure the following is in the file
DEVICE=eth1
BOOTPROTO=Static
ONBOOT=yes
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
IPADDR=192.168.x.x
GATEWAY=192.168.1.1
