Lost my Installation CD; affordable amp or DSP ?

I'm going to copy a bit from the support Email I sent to Emu.com today, I'm not sure if they will be able to answer my questions.

Hi, I lost my installation CD and have been unable to listen to the 1212m for sometime now. I uninstalled it because I was testing my old soundchip. I tried downloading the PatchMix DSP driver but it wouldn't allow me to install it because I needed the original installation CD drivers installed.

Is there a place I can get this online? The full driver is not on Emu.com's "Support > Software & Manuals" section for the 1212m, only the update driver.

Also - could you recommend a very economical amp that has great sound quality (preferably $120 or less)? The SuperDual headphone amp I had I returned because it was NO WHERE close to the repeated claims made by its creator of it sounding vastly superior then without a amp -- regardless if the original source was sufficient to power the phones. I need a fullsize one unless a mini amp can also power great speakers Wink Are there any amps that actually DO really make a -=BIG=- difference in Sound Quality, if the volume output was sufficient WITHOUT the amp? And if this is so, where is the evidence for it - preferably double-blind well controlled studies? Or would a DSP hardware do this? And if so, what DSP's in particular have a great bang-for-the-buck as far as increasing the depth & richness of the music?

My speakers are Klipsch ProMedia 2.1's & my headphones are Etymotic ER-4P (which are definitely not worth the $270 I paid for them as far as price/sound quality ratio goes). Any recommendations on headphones or speakers that pair great with the 1212m? What the Ety's really lack is the deep feeling of sound vibrating thru me that allows me to be more easily immersed into my music, esp. the deep bass that is absolutely amazing to experience! Perhaps a good DSP/speakers/headphones could make this a possibility?

PS: I've tried a software DSP program for Winamp named "Enhancer" that seems to work well providing deeper bass & richness in the music I really go for -- I like being able to manipulate the music to accentuate its high points with simplicity!

Here's the link for those who wish to test it (esp. if you compare it to a DSP hardware you have had experience or seen reviewed favorably)
http://www.i-adrian.home.ro/enhancer.htm

It's entirely free with no nags (ads/timeouts) & works well even on a P266, & is only about 100kB - less then a minute to download @28k!

I've tried dozens of software DSP's over the years, and this one sounds the best to me upon tweaking the settings a bit! If you know of one better, I'd like to know!

Good reviews & informative links would be most helpful!

Thanks! Smile

Added my new sig (just so you know where I'm coming from Wink

I'm not at all interested in the so-called 'correct' way to listen to music by having it replicate as close as possible to the original sound. Those sounds were created from the imaginations of the Consciousness that created them, & I wish to explore new worlds in the form of music that go beyond our old imaginations because it gives the music more life & meaning. Sound without change may be great for awhile, but after some time our Spirits may become Conscious of its static condition, & wish to grow beyond it to experience something new.. In the end, Change is inevitable...

***Call tech support, they should be able to send you a replacement disk for a minimal s&h fee.

Is there a reason the full driver is not available online, when the update driver is? It is inconvenient & should not be required. It probably isn't a security issue as the driver probably is only useable if one has the soundcard.
