FLEET 6 REPORT - OCTOBER With Sy feeling pretty miserable, I offered to compile and submit this for him. Lou didn't submit any reports this month and since he has three command positions in Fleet 6, that's why there are a bunch of gaps. We're also missing Jen's AFComm report and Geoff's GM report for the Olympic, although I know that the Oly is between missions. - A Kat Dressed Up in a Bunny Costume P.S. This is the first time in six years I've ever gotten to do a fleet report. =/\= OED V * Symon Silvester, CO * Crew Rating: 4 Mission Rating: 3 Posting Speed: 4 Overall Rating: 4 Comments: The OED seems to have quietened off in the last few weeks with no everyone posting regularly, probably due to the seasonal side. Still a great environment, but a little quieter than normal Open Positions: As always looking for civilians and people who want to play mysterious characters. Spotlight: The spotlight always has to fall on the irrepresible Russ. Besides him, Bob Spicer, Sarah Hemenway, Dave Fergusson and Ed Brough have stood out this month. And we are joined by Brian Olinski, who oozes class. * Sarah Hemenway, XO * Crew Rating: 5 Mission Rating: 5 Posting Speed: 5 Overall Rating: 5 Comments: Oed V is still as active and enthused as ever. Open Positions: No Open Positions Provided Spotlight: All of the members of the colony have been doing a wonderful job creating their own side-missions and getting involved with one another. I believe that they all deserve recognition this month. * Symon Silvester, FComm * Overall Rating: 4 Comments: Seems to have quietened off a little in the last few weeks but basically it is doing well and a good addition to the fleet. Kudos to the crew =/\= USS EUROPA * Stuart Coll, CO * Crew Rating: 3 Mission Rating: 3 Posting Speed: 3 Overall Rating: 3 Comments: First off, I would like to apologise for my absences this month. Real life unfortunately can hit you hard no matter how you try to get around it. Anyway I'm back now (touch wood!). Although we've tried our best with the sim, I feel that we're not making any headway at all. I would really like for us to have to this wrapped by Christmas or early January as it feels no matter what we do, we can't progress or thing just happen randomly. Even my CO character has been at a loose end for most of the sim and I'm seriously thinking of giving that guy a hobby! We have such a good crew full of people who love to play their characters and I really want us all to get the most of that. But it's been a long sim now and we're all a bit tired and I think it's time to move this sim on. Open Positions: COS is the only opening at the moment. Email me if you wish to be considered. Spotlight: They're all a fine bunch may I say! But I would say that most improved has been Mark Jones. Keep it up Mark! He has definitely managed to make himself get noticed! * Anthony Martin, XO * Crew Rating: 3 Mission Rating: 4 Posting Speed: 2 Overall Rating: 3 Comments: I arrived in August onto what I thought was an excellent ship, which for me fits in between "good" and "golly gosh gee, it's just fantastic." First impressions really do mean a lot, and that means that I'll probably be tough on the ship in these reports forever. I really can't say that anything was "bad," per se, but Europa's starting to feel like that pro sports club that has all the potential to be a champion, but is held back as if by something invisible, keeping them as "contenders" who will be nothing more. I certainly hope that our fate is different, though, and I haven't lost confidence that we're capable of that next level. Open Positions: As of this report, we'd like a COS, and JO's in all departments. Spotlight: Recently, I've had to resist the urge to just skip past a sea of posting by Brandon Irvine and Janelle Kimber, as they had quite the dialogue going on. They were chatting, as people do in real life, and it was very pleasing to see people taking things beyond the simple "instruction-acknowledgement-action" that sometimes plagues ships with boredom. It's good to see the Medical team having fun with their part of the sim, and added some realism and feeling to what was going on. * Kenson Koh, GM * Crew Rating: 4 Mission Rating: 4 Posting Speed: 4 Overall Rating: 4 Comments: The crew is still very active. They show interest in the sim and the interaction between members. Spotlight: No Spotlight Provided * Symon Silvester, FComm * Overall Rating: 3 Comments: In all honestly I haven't had the time to devote to looking at the Europa this month, but I know Stu's absence has had a small effect. =/\= USS GENESIS * Jen Herr, CO * Crew Rating: 3 Mission Rating: 3 Posting Speed: 4 Overall Rating: 3 Comments: The average ratings are because we are average right now. That's not a bad thing, but it seemed like there were quite a few people struggling to find things to do. I posted a reminder post at the end of the month reminding each department what it should be trying to accomplish, so hopefully that will help. The sim has slowed down momentum again though hopefully it's coming to a resolution soon. Open Positions: I have JO openings in security and engineering. Spotlight: No spotlights this month. Sorry guys. * Stuart Coll, GM * Crew Rating: 4 Mission Rating: 3 Posting Speed: 4 Overall Rating: 4 Comments: My real life problems caused a few significant delays in the sim. But despite that the Genesis crew soldiered on! They've kept things rolling while I've been trying to stick my laptop back together with sticky tape! Luckily I've just managed to pick up the pieces now that I'm back but my thanks go to Jen, Lou, Lee and Anthony for keeping everyone occupied! It's been a long sim for everyone. But we're on the final arc of the sim now. So I will try and push things forward from now on. Spotlight: Those I've mentioned already plus newcomers Shaughn Gorman and Andrea Frasier who have already made their mark! * Symon Silvester, FComm * Overall Rating: 3 Comments: The ship seems to have quietened in the lastr few weeks but is now picking up again. =/\= USS MERRIMACK * David Fergusson, CO * Crew Rating: 4 Mission Rating: 4 Posting Speed: 4 Overall Rating: 4 Comments: Everything is hunky dory! The Sim is intriguing and mysterious. We have a lot of information now, but I have a feeling that everything is not as it seems. Open Positions: CMO/ CSO/ Nurse/ Bridge crew/ other JOs/ other crewmembers and any other strange unusual characters welcome. Spotlight: My crew are consistently wonderful. Javok is the best damn Vulcan officer in the whole of STF. Getting Lou as GM was a stroke of luck after our previous problems. * Joseph Bradley, XO * Crew Rating: 4 Mission Rating: 3 Posting Speed: 4 Overall Rating: 3 Comments: we're slowly makeing headway in the sim. The crew is keeping active and posting regularly Open Positions: Need JO's in all department's. Spotlight: Jason Lee has the spotlight this month for his truly logical portrayal of a Vulcan. * Symon Silvester, FComm * Overall Rating: 3 Comments: Although the ship is making progress from where it was, I am slightly concerned about the tiny roster. It is showing signs of real improvement. =/\= USS OLYMPIC * Russell Watt, XO * Crew Rating: 4 Mission Rating: 2 Posting Speed: 4 Overall Rating: 3 Comments: Well, doesn't time fly when you're having fun :). The mission rating is a 2 because we are currently between sims, and don't really have a 'mission'. Having said that, the entire crew have kept themselves busy with various activities - meals on the surface of OED V (we're currently docked at the planet for our retrofitting) and attempting to avert disasters on board the Olympic - engine overheating. We are heading up to a meeting between the Captain, Fleet Commander and XO on the surface of the OED and a party at which the entire crew will meet ... some for the first time. With the great interaction between everyone without a sim ... one can only imagine the great posting that's going to happen once we do have a mission. Open Positions: Our plan is to promote to fill our vacant CSO position ... this will take place shortly, I understand. :) We could do with Junior Officers in all departments, with our immediate need being in the Security and Medical Departments. Spotlight: Seeing as the whole crew has kept themselves busy during the past month, I think everyone needs to be spotlighted. :) However, special note needs to be made of Amber Hagan, Bob Spicer and Ian Kerby for their discussions about their upcoming lunch. Oh and Lou has been extremely descriptive in his posts as Captain and our newest newcomer Lee Bridgeford as the security chief. What can I say ... I think they all need to be spotlighted :) * Symon Silvester, FComm * Overall Rating: 3 Comments: Russ and Lou have made real strides with the ship. Kind of between sims and ship classes right now, I am expecting much from this ship in the next few months =/\= USS VANGUARD * Cheryl Butler, CO * Crew Rating: 3 Mission Rating: 4 Posting Speed: 3 Overall Rating: 3 Comments: No Comments Provided Open Positions: Security, Engineering, Science, and Pilots Spotlight: No Spotlight Provided * Daniel Lerner, XO * Crew Rating: 4 Mission Rating: 2 Posting Speed: 3 Overall Rating: 3 Comments: We started our new sim a few weeks ago. It's taken a while to get our new orders, but it looks like things will start to pick up very soon. I've been keeping myself involved with the various departments in order to keep them involved while the sim begins to develop. Open Positions: COS, Sci, and Pilots. Spotlight: No Spotlight Provided * Brandon Irvine, GM * Crew Rating: 3 Mission Rating: 2 Posting Speed: 2 Overall Rating: 2 Comments: Its mostly my fault, because its the part of the sim that just kicks it off and usually focuses on a single person/group. However, the big argument we had this month over who exactly got to participate in this part didn't help either, nor did my little quasi-break for Turkey Day/Week. Spotlight: Jud Bennett, because his character is awesome. * Symon Silvester, FComm * Overall Rating: 3 Comments: Again another ship I haven't been able to pay as much attention to as I would to have. Steady and consistent.
