Problem with colored prompt (PS1) at rxvt-unicode

I'm using urxvt and I haven't colored prompt. In PS1 is '\u@\h \w \$ '. I think, that /etc/bash/bashrc is sorting rxvt-unicode to non safe terminals. Problem is at line:

safe_term=${TERM//[^[:alnum:]]/.}   # sanitize TERM

This line deleted dot from $TERM value and it changes "rxvt-unicode" to "rxvt.unicode" and this belies with dircolors --print-database.
