System hangs mostley when the screensaver goes on in Gnome, it is related to hal, see below. But I have no clue how to solve it. This is the what happens in dmesg: hda: status timeout: status=0xd0 { Busy } ide: failed opcode was: unknown hda: drive not ready for command hda: status timeout: status=0xd0 { Busy } ide: failed opcode was: unknown hda: drive not ready for command hda: status timeout: status=0xd0 { Busy } ide: failed opcode was: unknown hda: drive not ready for command hda: status timeout: status=0xd0 { Busy } ide: failed opcode was: unknown hda: drive not ready for command Output from hdparm /dev/hda /dev/hda: IO_support = 1 (32-bit) unmaskirq = 1 (on) using_dma = 1 (on) keepsettings = 0 (off) readonly = 0 (off) readahead = 256 (on) HDIO_GETGEO failed: Inappropriate ioctl for device And when it happens the system becomes almost unresponsive, but "top" shows that it is hald-addon-stor that is consuming all cpu.
