2-23-2007 I learned what modem stands for, it stands for modulator-demodulator. I learned that Baud is a measure of the symbol rate. I learned what state bit does, it describes an asynchronus transmission protocol where start signal is sent prior to each byte. I learned what stop bit is for, it’s a way for a computer to catch its breath when sending or getting data. I know what a parity bit is now too, it’s a binary digit that indicits whether number the number of bits are even or odd. I learned that Vista Aero had it’s own requirements such as having a 1GHz processor and 128MB graphics card. 1.) FTP stands for File Transfer Ptocoland it used to send files through networks. A program for FTP is SmartFTP or CuteFTP. 2.) A dynamic IP address is safer for home users, they don’t have to worry about hackers but they can’t run a home server without having to update the DNS constantly. A static IP address is more dangerous on a home computer user. However, if it’s all servers on the network, then a static ip address would be better and you would never have to update the dns either. 3.) HTTP stands for Hyper Text Transfering Protocol and you see it on a web browser. 4.) You use exchange 2000, it prevents the devivery of messages that are sent by certain users, domains, and prevents junk e-mail scripts too. 5.) I prefer Firefox, it’s fast, safe, and user-friendly. I love the tabbing browsering too, the extensions on it are really good.
