Sloth: Just wondering really what you think about how things are going [3:06p] Sloth: oh good. I like graduates! [3:06p] Buzz: about the state of the club? [3:06p] Sloth: pretty much [3:07p] Buzz: I think we're in a decent state right now [3:07p] Buzz: things have been productive and smooth during the last term, no major outbursts, has been kind of pleasant actually [3:07p] Sloth: yeah [3:07p] Sloth: where do you want to see things going? [3:08p] Buzz: as far as more in my area, the Acad, well, my first term with the big hat has been kind of uneventful, but I hope to have more things accomplished next term, assuming I am retained [3:08p] Buzz: now that I have a working know-how, I intend to do a lot more [3:09p] Buzz: I think the next major issue to address should be our membership numbers [3:09p] Sloth: but you think command's going right? Chewing through edicts and what not? [3:09p] Buzz: well, I think that the new accomplishments that were edictified have been items that needed to be addressed [3:10p] Buzz: some were long standing issues, that have finally been pinned down [3:10p] Sloth: I'm concerned about our membership numbers too [3:10p] Buzz: others, maybe not so much so, but still, all in all, n ot detrimental in any way [3:10p] Sloth: LOL I have been fo ryears [3:10p] Sloth: no one's been listening to me [3:11p] Buzz: yeah, I think the external (external to the club,, that is) atmosphere for ST is definitely waning [3:11p] Sloth: yeah [3:12p] Buzz: the shows, the films, games, all things that lend interest to our sort of hobby, has been in a downward direction the past few years, and that affects us more than some think [3:12p] Sloth: I think it doesn't help that our image isn't up to par though [3:12p] Buzz: by image, do you mean web presence, or people in command, or what? [3:12p] Sloth: web presence mostly [3:13p] Sloth: though I don't think its any secret I'm no fan of the current command [3:13p] Buzz: well, that aside, you do have to admit, Sarah's term has been decidedly productive [3:13p] Sloth: oh sure [3:14p] Sloth: I won't argue that [3:14p] Buzz: but, no one can fault anyone else for their own opinion [3:14p] Sloth: my problem's not with that really, I just think there are some large issues that need to be addressed, and I don't think sarah really will do it. She's very good at paperwork [3:14p] Sloth: and we needed good paperwork [3:14p] Buzz: as for web presence, I think that an increased word of mouth, or web ring, or something similar would be beneficial, if done right Sloth: indeed [3:15p] Sloth: so the way I'm reading this conversation, you don't really want to take the club in a different direction do you? [3:17p] Buzz: well, I like where we are at, and where we seem to be headed, but I also agree that other issues need to be addressed [3:18p] Buzz: I like the way Sarah is managing things, but do feel that these other factors should find a place on the table too [3:18p] Sloth: do you think she'll do it? [3:18p] Sloth: and do it right? [3:19p] Buzz: if the ideas are presented in a way that she can implement them and with the appropriate people helping on the task, sure Sloth: cool [3:26p] Buzz: so, do you not see the club as heading where you wanted it to over the past eight months? [3:27p] Sloth: well, sarah's done a great job with edicts, no one can fault her with that. But no, t hat's not where I want to see it going. We have so many larger problems that went completely unaddressed [3:28p] Buzz: well, not everything can be handled by one term in office [3:29p] Sloth: true [3:29p] Sloth: I don't think she has the right mentality for it though, nothing against her, but she's just very paperwork oriented. Always has been. [3:29p] Buzz: are these items you wish to attend to, if you run and get elected again? [3:30p] Sloth: sorry, I wasn't meaning to sound that way [3:31p] Sloth: LOL [3:31p] Buzz: well, paperwork oriented is good to a point, I agree, but do you wish to address these things yourself, or want to bring them up to her [3:31p] Buzz: ? [3:31p] Sloth: If there was any way in heck I could get elected again, yeah I would definately address things like that [3:32p] Sloth: but I dont;' really see that happening [3:32p] Buzz: well, if you make the right campaign, you could [3:32p] Sloth: you think I should? [3:33p] Buzz: well, the ultimate choice is yours, you have to evaluate how you see yourself handling and maintaining the election and how you present yourself to the membership [3:34p] Buzz: if done right you could mount a worthy alternative to Sarah's platform [3:34p] Buzz: but I will let you know up front, I am in Sarah's camp, she will have my continued support [3:35p] Sloth: • Sloth shrugs [3:35p] Buzz: but, choice is the answer to any dilemma [3:35p] Sloth: Kinda silly to say before seeing the other candidates
