Dear Colleagues,

In light of the heavy snow storm and attendant traffic and safety
concerns, the University will close as of noon.  No classes will be held
this afternoon or this evening.  With the exception of staff at
hospitals, clinics,  identified employees in Health Sciences departments
and departments that provide critical services, all faculty and staff
are excused as of noon.  I encourage administrators to reschedule
meetings that are planned for this afternoon.  Given the traffic
conditions, we urge you to use caution when leaving the campus and
consider phased departures and to otherwise plan your travel with your
safety in mind.  

The basketball game scheduled for tonight will be played.  If you have
specific questions about events on campus this evening, I would
encourage you to contact the respective host organization regarding
their plans. 

The University is expected to be fully operational on Wednesday,
February 28.
