JavaScript Cookies Assignment #1.
You assignment will consist of THREE files:
1. TWO HTML Documents (100 points each)
2. ONE Cascading Style Sheet (50 points)
Concept.
You are going to create a small JavaScript application that collects a user’s first name, e-mail address,
operating system, browser version, and region of the country in which they are located (northeast,
northwest, southeast, southwest, central). With this information, you will create a web page that:
1. greets the user by name;
2. provides interesting information concerning their OS;
3. displays special information or news that that is recent in their respective region of the country;
4. evaluates the browser that they are using and, based on the browser name and version, informs
them whether there is a new version of their browser available;
a. assume that the users will be using either IE or Firefox
b. if they need o upgrade, provide them the link to do so
5. The theme (text color, link color, background color, etc.) used on this web page should be
unique for each region.
Functionality.
The user should only need to provide his or her information if they have not been to the web site in over
one week. Otherwise, if the user has provided the above information and revisits the web site, he/she
should be automatically redirected to the page the provide FIVE items listed above.
