I've read your guide and found it to be very helpful. I have translated most of it to Russian (as I am from Russia). I would like comment about the style of the text.  The jokes like "... your hamster might, despite some encouraging first steps, never be able to fully grasp the concept of Logical Markup..." and "Real Men use Unix" are supposed to make the book "cool" but, in my humble opinion erode the books comprehensibility.  As a Unix user you probably should have known that saying "Unix is cool, other operation systems must die" is not what is known as the "Unix way".  My strong belief is that such phrases should be removed from the book.
