I get this console output in linux gentoo after compiling the tge sdk and running torquedemo.bin

         you can disable this message with a 'export MESA_GLX_FX=disable'.

and my frame rate is horrible it also does the same for games like marble blast.  

I tryed recompiling the engine but still no change. I also haven't noticed any sound , I'm not sure if there is even suppose to be sound?

BTW: marble blast does have sound.
