[18:18:52] hi [18:19:06] firefox asks me for a profile, but i have no other instances of firefox running. [18:19:09] any idea? [18:20:00] spiekey: What platform are you on? [18:22:40] subopt [n=eric@cpe-70-112-154-14.austin.res.rr.com] has left #firefox [18:23:39] oh, linux of course [18:25:24] mario@spiekey:~/.mozilla> ps aux | grep fire [18:25:24] mario 16432 0.0 0.1 2728 680 pts/1 S+ 18:25 0:00 grep fire [18:25:42] fuser /usr/bin/firefox -> nothing [18:25:56] .mozilla> find . -name lock --> nothing [18:28:02] anyone? [18:35:28] spiekey: Go into your profile dir. [18:35:33] There is a file "locked" [18:35:38] Delete that file. [18:37:48] .mozilla.org> find . -name locked [18:37:50] no result [18:37:53] there is no such file [18:38:07] hm or lock ? [18:38:50] oh i see, you still did that. [18:38:51] ./firefox/hptzc9gl.remote/.parentlock ? [18:38:52] sorry [18:39:02] yeah [18:39:06] Delete that lockfile [18:40:48] still the same :( [18:40:55] Hm damn [18:41:19] firefox was running, then i opened a vncserver session and firefox with a 2nd profile. [18:41:30] since then i cant get my original firefox profile running [18:41:42] If you just want to go on working, save the bookmark.html file, remove the .mozilla dir and let firefox recreate a profile. Then close firefox and replace the bookmark.html [18:41:45] and i need it with all my bookmarks, history and passowrds [18:41:50] oh [18:42:21] Well bookmarks are in bookmark(s).html file in your profile dir. [18:42:23] Save it. [18:42:39] and the passwords? [18:42:53] In this dir there should be also the history.dat [18:43:21] Well i don't store passwords, but maybe something like pass* ? [18:44:51] <@gavins> signons.txt and key3.db [18:46:08] :) [18:46:22] cool! [18:46:41] and the peferences? (like start page or the "do you want to...") questions? [18:48:02] spiekey: Well i would just reedit that. ;) [18:48:28] Or simply save all files from your old profile. [18:52:02] <@gavins> prefs.js are the preferences [18:55:13] thanks!
