I didn't say a thing about gushing, please don't assume. I think I actually presented the question I asked in a logical manner, and it does have a reason for being asked. I'm quite aware that "not every Japanese person relates to androgynous musical groups and cartoons" - I'm not an idiotic fangirl. 

Regardless of your apparent distaste for my reasoning in asking, it was a question I was curious about the answer to - and I was a bit under the impression that that was part of the purpose here - for those of us looking into the eikaiwa to ask questions of people who have been through the process. I'd seen many, many mentions of "If anime or anime watching comes up, downplay" or something of that nature, but nothing about jpop. I was guessing it was the same idea, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to check. 

That said, this is my last comment on this particular thread - feeling as if I need to justify why I asked a polite question isn't sitting well with me.
