colbert: umm, /usr/share/alsa/alsa.conf that's like normal system update we changed the default sample format in there... from S16_LE to S32_LE thats because that card you have, only accepts S32_LE sample format then we added my .asoundrc for your card.. which takes care of the dmixing and upmixing (2.0 to 5.1) of your sound
