So there I was, in Jita, browsing through market and checking what I could buy for my shiny Huginn and bla bla bla stuff.

Then, on IRC, a friend tells me there are several ships on empire gate in lowsec only few jumps out of Jita. At the time the ships were Thanatos, Rokh, Raven, Drake, Sleipnir, Damnation. By the time I arrive, I see the Rokh instapopping to the Phoenix of my friend, MrBadIdea. Rest of them get out safely to the highsec.

Quiet hour follows, my alt sits in the highsec keeping eye on them, they seem to sit on the gate doing nothing. A few more of them arrived at the gate shortly.

We noticed an alt called "Jumptome" in kestrel at the empire gate in the lowsec system (We wondered just what he might have fitted there ;p).

Ok time to warp the Phoenix and his painter alt, Typhoon back to the gate.
The hostiles jumped into lowsec too, the Kestrel pops up a Cyno but we were prepared for that and the Kestrel was disposed of very quickfly by Shigsy and his Taranis (That got killed by sentries afterwars).

The fight begins, I warp to gate in my Eos.
Current numbers:
Us: Phoenix, Typhoon, Eos
Them: Raven, Raven, Abaddon, Sleipnir, Damnation, Drake, Enyo

Primary is Sleipnir but as we had no painters left (They popped the Phoon quick as it was just set for support), the Sleipnir took 2 volleys of Citadel torpedoes to go down.

Secondary, Raven. Instapopped! Twisted Evil
New primary: 2nd Raven. Instapopped!
New secondary: Abaddon. This guy actually took like 3, maybe even 4 volley of Citadel torps on him before he decided to die.

This is where we noticed something: The Damnation had put a cyno up, and there came what we feared the most.
Current numbers:
Us: Phoenix, Eos, Navy Raven
Them: Damnation, Drake, Enyo, 2x Thanatos, Archon, Chimera, Naglfar, Phoenix, Revelation.

The Revelation came in first and no one else showed up for next minute or two but then suddenly they all came in and we though "Oh shit, we are done for!".
But we didnt give up, we decided to fight!

New primary: Damnation. All I can say: that thing tanked like a bitch! He really took a beating before he went down.
New secondary: Drake.. oh wait he had warped out at some point.

At this point, I had pulled atleast 2 Carrier's fighters on my Eos which were hurting me a bit. I decide to MWD around a bit to drop the damage a bit.
This is where things started going nuts.

I ran out of cap boosters so I quickly check market and kewl! system has Cap 800 on market, time to grab a few.
Hmm, what is this, I try to buy but I cant get anything.
Market was borked, big time. No one could buy anything off it.

At this point we were supposed to cyno our Phoenix out but it didnt work out because we couldnt buy anything from market...
Time goes by, MrBadIdea's Phoenix is going down slowly.
For some reason, the hostile Dread's werent using siege mode (Why the hell not? O.o)

MrBadIdea is out of siege now, he gets into warp but when he exit's warp, there is something wrong here.. He still has the hostile capitals locked, from 23AU away and both are still shooting at eachother.

In the mean while, Olly has fitted his Navy Raven with smartbombs to take out all the pesky fighters.
He does very fine job and the fighters go down nicely.
Estimate: 3 carrier worth of fighters destroyed.

I warp to gate to check it out and there he is, still at the gate, but no on his own screen. I warp out, then some weird market error pops up on my screen. I close it fast, it's in my way.
Then I thought: "Hey, maybe the market works now" and oh hell yea, yes it did!

With my cargo full of cap boosters, I warp to MrBad, into the middle of the capital fleet.
After quick checking, it seems the Enyo was scrambling MrBad. Down goes the Enyo.

After shortwhile, MrBad seem to have entered warp on everyone else's screen too, not just his.
So we got our Phoenix safe, I decide to warp out too. Olly had warped his CNR out a bit earlier already.

So we are out safely, fight has ended.

End result:

Our losses: Typhoon, Taranis, Taranis (Other Taranis was suicided to kill the cynokestrel, I lost my alt's Taranis because I forgot him at the gate :p)
Oh and most of my poor drones were lost during the engagement Sad

Their losses: Raven, Raven, Abaddon, Sleipnir, Damnation, Enyo


Best fight I have had in ages, this is how it should be always! Uneven and ballsy fights where anything can happen.
