Jeff, do you know if it's customary for developers of new mobile hardware to approach the community and ask for an NDA to be signed? hi it has been done before, but i wouldn't say it's customary :-) the usual reaction to that is "if i don't get to work on it in the community, you're getting me to work for free" kind of thing that's about what I thought CLUG (Clemson Linux Users Group) has been approached by ZipIt from Greenville, SC, USA and we've been asked to sign NDA's to meet with them next week ah kind of a different story then so, read the NDA carefully, make sure it applies only to what you see and the period of release for the product I told our president that how are we supposed give buzz for their supposedly awesome product if we're under NDA once it's public knowledge, you're back to normal that's the problem, it has a 3 yr clause on it even though they're planning on releasing in 6 months still too long to not talk on p.g.o about it IMHO especially if it's getting "Seahorse" time sounds like a template nda they're not going to care if you blog publically available knowledge it's clearly not in their interest our rep's going to talk to him about it and explain the meaning of working with the community thanks, we haven't dealt with this kind of thing much, they just asked to meet with 2-3 of our "core hackers" and passed out an NDA
