What is a BNC?

Quotes:

What is BNC? BNC is a great IRC (Internet Relay Chat) proxying server under the GPL (General Public License). It allows users to connect to chat servers by bouncing off the computer which is running BNC. Basically, it forwards the information from the user to the server and vise versa.

A psyBNC is an easy-to-use, multi-user, permanent IRC-Bouncer. It is stays online when you disconnect, so n00bs cant steal your nick, and if you just wanna look cool.

What is it?:

connecting to a BNC connects you to a companys server wich redirects to the server you want to be on,
although the company is the main connector, they have your connection status on and can leave it on because it is using the companys aIdle script.

Advantages:

The BNC keeps you online 24/7 except for company/server downtime, although no commands work nor logs can be made, except the bnclog, it is handy as your nick is there 24/7 and people mess in your channel when your not there? now your always there, nothing will happen.

Warnings:

BNC's can be used to ban evade, and ban evading is strictly against all servers rules since you have been banned for a reason, ban evading will mean the admin of the BNCs would remove your account, and IRCops could possibly ban the whole BNC network from that admin, or from everyone, so think before you do it.
