I had to deal a lot with management regarding our trip. Here comes a long story, hope you enjoy it -- We got there about 30 minutes early and checked in with a very nice man. He said that the room wasn't ready yet but he'd call me on my cell phone when it was. I thought great! So I walked around for a bit and got a phone call saying our room wasn't ready still but he could upgrade me to a better room for free. I originally ordered the room facing the bay so I thought 'wow, something better? sweet' We picked up our keys and went to our new room. This room was near by the pool which was not an update by any means. It was very loud from the pool music plus everyone running around screaming. Our neighbors also had the TV on pretty loud and the walls are thin so we could hear their tv. This trip was meant to relax and we couldn’t do anything but relax. We were about to go out to the beach and relax since we couldn’t do so in our room and then we found a used condom in our room. It’s a known fact that people have sex in hotels, and we understand that but when there’s a used condom laying on the floor you get pretty grossed out and question how much they clean these rooms before the next guest comes in. I went up to the front and informed them and they told me the manager would be there to meet me in my room so I went back. The manager came a minute or so later with the cleaning crew and they told me ‘Nobody has been in this room for a few days’ it almost seemed like they didn’t believe us and we put it there to get free stuff. I didn’t want anything free actually. Then the room service made the comment ‘We’ll need to check the locks’ Great! What a great way to feel secure at night, the staff of the hotel is wondering if someone broke in. I went and asked for additional room and they said they were completely booked. I even suggested we would upgrade and pay extra just to get out of that room. Obviously we didn’t feel safe from the room service comments and felt dirty because of the used condom. We ended up staying in that room over night and went to talk to the front desk the next day, they stated again they had no rooms except the suites which were an additional $70 a night. I just wanted to relax and enjoy my vacation so we paid the extra. Once we got into our suite, it was great. The room was clean and it felt more like a $250 room (what we originally paid for for the first room, not ~$350 for the suite) We had a problem with our telephones (none of them worked) so I called the front desk on my cell phone and told them and they said they would send someone up. After about 30 minutes of no one showing up, I removed all the telephones from the jacks except one and it worked again so I just kept it that way. After all I just needed to use the telephone to order some food (room service) and spend more money at your hotel. I kept wanting to spend money and the hotel made it near impossible for me. Unfortunaly I don’t remember the guy’s name who brought our room service up to our hotel at night in the suite but he was very nice and was great. The food was excellent and we enjoyed the rest of the vacation the last day. Anyways – I would not recommend your hotel unless you planned on staying in the suite rooms. The room I originally stayed in was not worth the money by any means. Thank you for your time.
