OK, I'll humour you. I have already replaced the modem with a spare 'connexant' thing I have, I had an associate do this _before_ I first email ed your support@ address at around noon your time (and please note that the guy I spoke to didn't bother mentioning that you'd care about this. I noticed, of course, that somehow this had not caused ppp to drop (evidently happened between LCP polling intervals.) This I have now done fo r you. I can't see that it's helped. Please reply to this email with - A list of specific tests you need me to perform - Confirmation that my incredibly cheap and poorly made spare modem is an appropriate device to prove whatever point it is you are trying to pr ove For the record, I've reconnected once a month on average this year. Most of these occasions have been caused by bad power. One time, my stepso n tripped over the 10' or so of cable between my DSL modem and the wall socket. (For what it's worth, when the modem was replaced, a known good piece of cable was substituted.) I'm sure you can appreciate how incredibly frustrating it is to be in my position; I have been on the other side of this conversation more times than i care to remember, and this is a pointless game that demeans us both. I've been a pretty decent, low maintenance customer for the last 3 years, and it's depressing that I'm receiving nowhere near the level of service I expect from your organisation. (At this point it is probably opportune to note that whilst I was reading your reply to my earlier missive, I had my girlfriend unplug the line filter which connects to my c ordless from the wall. The only thing plugged in is the DSL modem.) Please do what you've already agreed to do (whilst I was on hold for an interminable period of time whilst the last guy I spoke to spoke to some body presumably more senior than him and confirmed that contacting telstra was the apropos course of action, viz. I find it incredibly surprisin g that we are even having this conversation.)
