Ginger has adapted to its environment in many ways, changing to fit its current environment slowly and over time. The first adaptation is it has drip tips (end pointy part on a leaf) and waxy surfaces in which it allows water to run off, which for the most part, prevent the growth of bacteria and fungi. The smooth bark and the smoothness/wax on the flower help the water run off the plant faster. The roots on the ginger plant help hold up it up in shallow soil so it can receive the sunlight it needs.
