marge: the easies way to do so is probably running the System setting -> network ... -> New -> xDSL I'm wanting to take this new install of fedora to my mother-in-law's and hook it up on here pppoe dsl. or using "adsl-setup" marge: by using "adsl-setup" and "ifup ppp0", yes, I guess so fatal_: rather easy to still get inet with pppoe fatal_: adsl-setup did it for me fatal_, are you saying I need to implement commands: "adsl-setup" and "ifup ppp0" ? marge: well, you have to run "adsl-setup" to set up the configuration files marge: you just have to issue them :) marge: as root marge: then run "ifup ppp0" to actually get connected marge: adsl-setup is an interactive script marge: it will ask you then setup the dsl con move the ifcfg-eth0 first. mv /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0.backup xDSL is a gui? <|allstar|> yes..or internet connection setup <|allstar|> should be under applications-->system settings ...or something like that... marge: ok. well, moving ifcfg-eth0 still applies. you'll only need ifcfg-lo and ifcfg-ppp0. be sure to remember the "gotcha" regarding the nickname for the profile - use ppp0 as the nickname, and hopefully it'll just work.
