at the beginning i used a mandrake 7.1 (or 7.2) with samba there was no problem.
then i upgrade to mandrake 10.0 (reinstall of the server without touching home partition)
then the probleme came with encoding character and samba : some file appear with wrong character in their name
at the beginning it was not a problem, but now i'm using a backup application wich refuse to make backup of those file
then i try to convert those file with convmv, sometime i've got this error message : this file was not validly encoded in UTF-8
i would like to know if there was an application wich permit to know the encoding character of a file name
