Character Name: Farn Type: Verpine Inventor Gender/Species: Male Verpine Age: Born 40 BBY (5 BrS) Height: 1.9 meters Physical Description: The years have taken a toll on Farn. Though only 40 at the time of the battle of Yavin, he seems much older, and even species unfamiliar with Verpine body language can sense this. Farn is usually seen wearing a faded vest and a belt with a few tools in it. Though he owns a slugthrower (which looks as cobbled-together as the rest of his possessions), Farn only carries it when he expects danger. These days, though, that seems like all the time. Biography: Long before the Clone Wars, Farn was once a Verpine the same as any other, living in a hive in the Roche system, and conforming to the hive in all things. But that wasn't enough; Farn wanted independence. While piloting an ore hauler through the asteroid field, Farn suddenly suffered what might be called a nervous breakdown, and made his break for freedom, taking the hauler into hyperspace. Without a long-range hyperdrive, Farn could only make it to Togoria. Cannibalizing what parts he could from his ship (which he had decided to name the Apostate), he traded them for an upgraded hyperdrive, then took to the stars again. With an aptitude for machines, he took to inventing, making his living by selling his unusual gadgets to the people of dozens of planets on the Outer Rim. The Apostate itself became a thing of mystery, as with every stop he made Farn added some new part, turning the ship into a bizarre thing that looked like it shouldn't have even flown. And to the worlds he visted, Farn himself was a legend, the mad scientist who breezed into town, sold his creations that were almost magic, and left again to strange new places. He took on a few companions in this time, including the enigmatic human priestess Loraya and the cantankerous Toydarian Zoi. But that was a long time ago. The Apostate was lost in the Clone Wars, and with its passing, Farn's companions went their own ways. And with no ship, no friends, and his people still keeping him in exile, Farn had nothing. And so for the past two decades he has been a vagabond, catching rides on freighters from world to world, making repairs, building what he can with junk and spare parts, and selling them to get by. He spends much of his time in an impromptu workshop in whatever hole in the wall he's living in, or at the local bar forgetting his past. But some of the old-timers still remember the mad genius who came to their world and made the galaxy seem a bigger place...
