(2:59:20 PM) Me: And they succeed in that, but the half-breeds are volatile, unlike the Cythereans their emotions are unbridled and passionate, and they lash out on their creators
(2:59:40 PM) Me: Destroying cytherean civilization and setting the humans free into this vast underground of Venus
(3:00:19 PM) Karsuman: pretty fantastical sci-fi plot. reminds me of some epic sci-fi series/movies.

(3:01:07 PM) Me: You've got this race of humans living in the vast underworld for thousands of years before you hit the main plot

(3:01:37 PM) Me: Figuring out how to survive, adapting and inventing things that they'd never have on earth
(3:02:06 PM) Me: And eventually, while exploring, they rediscover the dead metropolis of their Cytherean creators
(3:02:23 PM) Me: Now, the Cythereans use biotechnology for almost everything
(3:02:51 PM) Me: So the city used to be a living thing, although not in any natural sense
(3:03:29 PM) Me: Now, the city is dripping with this cancerous white material still living but only by taking over other bodies
(3:03:51 PM) Karsuman: hmm
(3:04:37 PM) Me: Now, it isn't content to have just the one body
(3:04:43 PM) Me: And it mutates and absorbs more and more
(3:04:53 PM) Karsuman: evolving, basically?
(3:05:03 PM) Me: In a way
(3:05:16 PM) Me: But inside the city there's not much left for host material
(3:05:49 PM) Me: So when the humans start raiding the city, and bringing back this new biotech
(3:06:10 PM) Me: They eventually discover this abomination, which is a kind of cluster-system of different primitive brains
(3:06:30 PM) Me: And they can't kill it, so they run
(3:06:55 PM) Me: Of course now it knows about a better host, so it's going to come after the humans
(3:07:10 PM) Karsuman: and that's where the game starts taking place?
(3:08:16 PM) Me: Well, I was thinking it'd start at that raid
(3:09:19 PM) Karsuman: so how will the plot progress?
(3:09:57 PM) Karsuman: I'm guessing the alien would attack human cities or some such. but would monsters or whatever start popping up?

(3:10:34 PM) Me: There're other creatures that live in the underground, but nothing monstrous outright until the abomination comes forth and starts infecting things
(3:11:32 PM) Me: Anyway, the first abomination is a monster and everything but it'll be stopped by the character fairly early on
(3:11:54 PM) Karsuman: is the entire game underground? not that it'd be a good idea to go on to Venus's surface.

(3:12:44 PM) Me: See, to the humans living underground, the sun and the surface are just a myth

(3:14:38 PM) Karsuman: could always make them have to escape the planet or some such on an ancient spaceship or something. hehe. might be a cool ending.

(3:16:00 PM) Me: He controls a new abomination and unleashes it on the remaining cythereans tucked away in a remote corner of the surface, in a valley that they've terraformed into a kind of paradise
(3:16:53 PM) Karsuman: so it's going to be a kind of 'fight for the sake of human survival' sorta thing?

(3:18:40 PM) Me: As far as they know, they're the last of their kind
(3:18:52 PM) Me: Until some point where they discover otherwise
(3:20:54 PM) Me: Here I'm thinking that the half-breeds are going to be the technologically superior beings left on the planet
(3:22:23 PM) Me: so it could tap into old monitoring technology that the cythereans left on Earth
(3:22:25 PM) Me: And view the humans
(3:23:26 PM) Karsuman: is Earth still around with humans?
(3:23:29 PM) Me: Right
(3:23:55 PM) Me: Time on Earth is close to the modern age but not quite the space age yet, I'm thinking

(3:24:58 PM) Me: Earth as a setting won't come into play so it's mostly irrelevant

(3:29:54 PM) Me: The halfbreeds wouldn't want to destroy the humans outright; they're after their creators
(3:30:38 PM) Karsuman: what would they do with the humans after that?
(3:30:58 PM) Me: However, the abomination is after complete absorbtion
(3:31:32 PM) Me: And with the halfbreed trying to control the abomination...

(3:32:28 PM) Me: The abomination turns on the halfbreed and absorbs him
(3:32:29 PM) Karsuman: lol
(3:32:47 PM) Me: So now you've got this vastly superior version of the abomination from the early game
(3:32:53 PM) Me: Who is trying to destroy everything
(3:33:13 PM) Me: The remaining half-breeds are nothing without their leader, but they'll help you
(3:33:42 PM) Me: The remaining cythereans want to evacuate the planet, so they're trying to get their space program up and running again
(3:33:48 PM) Me: And the humans want to return to earth
(3:33:58 PM) Me: So they want to steal the ships from the cythereans
(3:34:06 PM) Me: Before the abomination can wipe out everything.
