Thank you for contacting us. This case wa passed along to me. Checked the performance logs and the history of the server you are on for the last six months. From the performance logs the server us underloaded so not an excess of customers on one server for load and the server has only been down for a short time on the 14th of May. Someone should have explained this before now. Shared hosting accounts have specific cgi limits to prevent one user from monopolizing the server and you are exceeding them. So far this month it looks like you have used 236GB of transfer volume and have averaged 20k to 30k unique visits per day exceeding 50k unique visits a day for a couple of days. I am somewhat surprised that you have not run into more issues with 500 errors then you have meaning you have probably streamlined your php codding as much as possible and did a good job at it. The solution, while the devloper package does have higher cgi limits then the other three hosting packages this will probably just minimize the amount of times you get 500 errors. Either at minimum, move some of the other sites off the same hosting package (may resolve your issue) and onto a seperate shared hosting package or upgrade to a managed server (this will almost definitley fix your problems). One thing to keep in mind if you do decide to upgrade to a managed server, and there is a warning page about this but people still miss it, you will need to export and reimport your databases so back them up! (sorry lots of poeple breeze past this part and then we pull a backup for them which takes longer then doing it right in the first place). If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
