Hi, When loading up Ubuntu on my Compaq Presario F502AU laptop, I get an error message saying "Failed initializing HAL". When trying to load network-manager from GDM I get a window that says "Your configuration could not be loaded, you are not allowed to access the system configuration" and if I run it from the command line: jonathan@jonathan-laptop:~$ gksu network-admin (network-admin:5610): GnomeUI-WARNING **: While connecting to session manager: Authentication Rejected, reason : None of the authentication protocols specified are supported and host-based authentication failed. (network-admin:5610): Liboobs-WARNING **: Failed to connect to socket /var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket: No such file or directory (network-admin:5610): Liboobs-WARNING **: OobsSession object hasn't connected to the bus, cannot register OobsObject (network-admin:5610): Liboobs-CRITICAL **: run_message: assertion `oobs_session_get_connected (priv->session)' failed (network-admin:5610): Liboobs-WARNING **: OobsSession object hasn't connected to the bus, cannot register OobsObject (network-admin:5610): Liboobs-CRITICAL **: run_message: assertion `oobs_session_get_connected (priv->session)' failed (network-admin:5610): Liboobs-CRITICAL **: oobs_session_get_platform: assertion `priv->connection != NULL' failed I also get this error when trying to start Compiz Fusion: Failed to connect to socket /var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket: No such file or directory before it segfaults on me.
