There once was a man named Richard Connell who was the son of Richard Edward Connell Sr. and Mary Connell. He was born October 17, 1893. His father was a reporter and editor for the Poughkeepsie News-Press. Richard began writing at the age of 10 while his father was working for the Poughkeepsie News-Press. He covered baseball games and was paid 10 cents a game for his stories. When he was 18 he became city editor of the newspaper and his pay had gone up from 10 cents to 16$ a week. Richard went to Georgetown college for 1 year. Then he left and became his fathers assistant for 2 years until his father died and he went back to college. Later on in life Richard wrote a short story by the name of “The Most Dangerous Game” which was published on January 19, 1924 and was later made into a movie. The movie produces who made the movie based on “The Most Dangerous Game” made the movie extremely different from the short story by adding a female, reducing the time the hunting game goes on, and changes the ending of the story by telling us how Zaroff dies instead of leaving it to our imagination.
