gksudo gedit /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/proxy

that will open an empty file. Copy the following into the file:


Acquire {
Retries "0";
HTTP {
Proxy "http://proxy.mystarhub.com.sg:8080";
};
};

changing the proxy as needed
