Setting: Dilapidated city (à la Silent hill 1)
Survivors can communicate
Monsters cannot
Monsters are not zombies
You die naturally, I don’t know what happens
A monster kills you, you turn into a monster I think
A monster kills maybe 5 people, or a single person carrying a randomly-selected-they-don’t-know-they-have-it gene and dies and the player respawns as a human
Survivors will form bands
Maybe monsters have impaired vision, or can only see other monsters sometimes, something like that
Maybe it’s really dark and monsters are hard to make out but humans glow?
So there’s this city
It’s the Silent Hill city, looks like 500 humans have been through it and 600 flying zombie birds came in and ate them all
That’s all gone now, it’s starting again
Maybe different kinds of monsters
Definitely different kinds of monsters, maybe depends on your genetic code, or…definitely depends on how well you do as a human before you die/convert (Maybe just groups of different-leveled monsters that are randomly selected but your actions choose the level)
So a bunch of people
Groups of survivors
Just trying to survive longer and do better things
Sometimes for awards and points, sometimes so they’ll be a better monster
Monsters sometimes see eachother, gang up
They have a bit of a stealth interface, survivors could go into a building and board up the doors
Then the 5 wolves jump out of the garbage cans, devour them all, they get a blind teamwork award and some of them come back to life depending on the gene
There are ways to find if you have the gene, somehow adding strategy
There’ll have to be even more elements
But seriously
I would play this game forever
If others did as well
