"Here is your chance. Explain why your friend, who is trying to get into a competitive college, should be considered for admission instead of the thousands of others who are also applying. What is it about him or her that is so unique? Just what does he or she have to offer? What is it like to be friends with such a person?"


“Unique”? The dictionary might define this word as meaning “being the only one of its kind” or “unlike anything else.” But by this logic everyone is unique, as there are no two people on this earth exactly alike. Now however much unique Katie Punsly is that word alone does not do justice to her, she is more than unique, she is special, she is remarkable and I can honestly say she is one of the most incredible people I have ever had the fortune of meeting.
I met Katie just over 2 years ago and it didn’t take me long to figure out what kind of a person she was. Katie is reliable and trustworthy, she has never forgotten anything I’ve asked of her or anything she has promised to do for me, be it anything from reminding me of somewhere I had to be to actually remembering and taking an interest in what I say when she asks me “What are you up to this week?”. 
I think what makes Katie stand out above so many others is what I would deem her greatest and most accomplished trait. Katie is genuine. She doesn’t lie, she doesn’t deceive and she is always willing to speak what is on her mind and voice her opinion in search of a solution to whatever troubles her. The most recent example of this came just last week when Katie was concerned with putting certain tasks and groups Katie had taken part in into the experience sections of some of her University applications, she was worried that it would make her seem like she had only been a part of these things so to increase her chances of actually getting into certain Universities, when really I know that such things as her volunteer work mean a lot more than that to her. 
I believe Katie suits an academic environment very well. She has always worked hard at whatever she does and has always strived to succeed at all tasks.
