「i have no friends」は　にほんごで　なんと　いいますか。

I guessed "わたし　の　ともだち　が　いません", but a friend suggested that it might be "わたし　は　ともだち　が　いません". 

Which is better? Does it work with "は" or does that somehow imply I don't exist? :)
