The raw materials (aluminium, Mylar and Kevlar) are delivered to the factory |odtąd->> and go in through big side doors straight on to the factory floor. Remo do just about all of their own manufacturing in-house, the majority of their drum head films are custom made, they’re not just off the shelf films that other people can use, especially other head manufacturers. Dupont make Remo’s custom films, they make films specifically with the properties that Remo want and that they’ve had for a number of years, so that’s what Remo believe sets them apart from other companies. They use different varieties and grades of aluminium for the rims, depending what the end result will be. For instance, if it’s a marching drumhead it takes quite a bit of pressure and tension and the stresses on the actual frame are much greater than it would be for standard drum kit head, especially a bass drum head that is generally under little tension.
