I've been considering a HDTV purchase for some time. I'm interested in 32", right now it's the largest size that's practical. I live in Canada so model availability is somewhat constrained. Pixel aspect ration must be 16:9 (matching the panel); the TV must support 1:1 pixel mapping on HDMI/DVI. It will mainly be driven by a linux based HTPC. I plan to use this TV for many years. I'd like black blacks, no clouding, good image quality, I may play games or similar on it so 120Hz seems like it would be appealing. NTSC performance is also extremely important, most content is still SD here in canoobia. I've narrowed things down to a few models under consideration: The "omg 1080p" option Sharp LC32D62U The "omg XBR4" option Sony KDL32XBR4 I'm open to suggestions, though I have no interest in a larger television. I'd like to keep the price reasonable but I don't mind paying for quality.
