            [body] => The assessment of student learning was the focus of the ninth annual mission day. Convened Oct. 15, the daylong conversation involved representatives from across the university community.	
President Armenti stated that the belief that students are learning could be more an assumption than a scientifically proven fact. He pointed to the third recommendation of the recent Spellings Commission Report on the Future of U.S. Higher Education; and the second tenet of the Guskin Model, considered at last fall’s Mission Day, as evidence to justify delving into the question of student learning.
