Want Happiness? Seek Truth - Part I Current mood: calm Category: Religion and Philosophy I will never publicly humiliate people by naming names in my blog and I ask that everyone who comments here abide by the same rule. As such, any comments that reference specific individuals will be deleted.I f individuals "see" themselves or others in my writings, they should privately assess their behavior to determine why they are seeing themselves or others and if necessary, use it as an opportunity for further growth.

Finally, let there be no mistake – I do not condone ugliness and I will never start it… ...but I will finish it. With that said, let me just say there has been a lot of negativity thrown around and we are all tired of it. As such, let's put down our anger and welcome this new day as a new opportunity to once again move towards happiness and joy. How do we truly do that? Well, first, we have to understand where all the negativity comes from to begin with if we are going to make meaningful changes. And where does the negativity come from? In my humble opinion it is the direct result of self-hatred. Why? Well, because it is impossible to love others until we love ourselves. That being true, the big question is "Why exactly DO we hate ourselves so much?" It is simple. We hate ourselves because we believe the myth that we will not be worthy until we are perfect. But do you know what? As long as we are on this planet we are NEVER going to be perfect. EVER. As such, if you want to find happiness you must be willing to see the myth as a myth and face the truth – and in order to find the truth you must be willing to see. So you still want to find happiness? You say you AREN'T afraid of the truth? Then come with me on this journey. It will only take a week or so. It's time to face the truth. "Wait, DG," says Capote. "It isn't just self-hatred. This behavior also stems from jealousy and coveting what others have – two of the seven failures of humans." "I agree, Capote, but I also think that all of these failures have a common root cause."" DG, what people need to first understand is that all you wanted was for people to come to play in your blog and that just because you are nice doesn't mean you can be taken advantage of. I think you should show them the Chocolate Eating Children. Maybe that will help them understand a bit more. Today… I am alone. I can feel it. I can hear it. It is everywhere. I am reminded today that it is hard doing the right thing. Keeping my distance so as not to negatively affect those that cross my path… Today I ask myself why? Why must it be so? Why cant I just let go and enjoy? Is it because I am forever leaving… moving away to some other place? Is it because I don't want to lead them astray or give them false hopes? Is it me? Can't they see? I am reminded today that people are fallible. I have lived a life of tolerance and will continue to do so. I tolerate much because I see much… and disagree. They never see it because I don't show them. But people are just plain silly sometimes. It is like a child… with melted chocolate on its hands and lips… a child I observed getting the candy and eating some of it. But these people, like the child, hide that chocolate behind their backs when I approach. So I say, do you have candy that you are not supposed too? And they shake their little heads and say no. Direct confrontation really doesn't work… I could go in a round about way of acknowledging this chocolate… I could go to an adjacent room and speak load enough to some inanimate object about how it is bad to eat chocolate before dinner so as to allow for this child to make a better decision and cease its activity. But that doesn't always work either. These people, these children, seem to think they can just get away with stuff… with no consequences… what then? I am reminded today that people are selfish. Tolerating the chocolate eating children is what I do. I manage ever so meekly my little existence with them so as to partake of their company and friendship. But for some reason these chocolate eating children become bolder in their efforts to satisfy their sweet tooth. They want to eat their chocolate before dinner and they want caramel and they want hard candies too. And of course… they stop eating dinner with me because they are full of chocolate and all the other various sweets that they sought after. And of course… I am deprived of their company because of this. What now? I am reminded today that people are incredulous. Having to move out of my ever so subtle methods of alerting these children about their behavior… into more direct methods until finally THE direct method of confrontation… Why do they question? Why do they get all defensive? Why do they lie? Do they not know they get more points for telling the truth? Do they honestly believe that I have not been watching from afar? These chocolate eating children have no respect for me… they have no understanding of me… they have no power of self-control that can be used to usurp their idol curiosities. Do they not know that I just want to have the pleasure of their company and enjoy dinner? What of this? I am reminded today that some people are just insufferable. Please understand people. I have been smart all of my life. I have had self control all of my life. When I choose to confront you about something… I have already modeled your personality in my head. I have already confronted that model a million times with a million different approaches and unbiasedly assumed a million different motives for that model. It doesn't take long to see where you are going cuz I already saw it. When I cut you off mid-sentence… it is for a reason. I cannot believe the extent to which some of you chocolate eating children are willing to go to not admit defeat. Just admit that you were eating the damn chocolate and stop doing it. That is it. That is all you have to do. And we can be friends and eat dinner and enjoy each other's company. But of course, that is not the case… and you children keep eating your chocolate. I am reminded today that some people are vindictive. Chocolate eating children can't eat chocolate if I don't buy it in the first place. They wine and moan… and kick up a fuss… but finally, I get to have dinner. The chocolate eating children see that I was right. They see that I have won and they boil over inside… They become rude at dinner. They make fools of themselves and attract negative public attention so as to embarrass and defame me. So… I leave them be. To whatever devices and to whatever end… I let them go.

And here I am today. Alone. Longing for something that I cannot have.
