man, now I have to learn another chat client

One thing, how will participants be able to verify that the person they are chatting with is really the person behind the callsign? For example, suppose if someone comes on as me?
OK, well it looks like pretty much everyone would be interested in having a channel so A Meteorite and I went and have gone and made one.
Channel: #badgerking
Network: FreeNode

It would be great if some people could stop by from time to time or even become a regular if your already an IRC user, to keep the channel alive. And as 'A Temporal Distraction' mentioned all important info will be mirrored here on the forums.
