Reasoning:
First place should earn a considerable bit.
This entire pattern, is, based around that theory.
However, also included, is, a reason to join larger games.
With the prospect of becoming very rich, or, not lossing too much.

1-4 are self explanitory.

At five, you notice that the pot doesn't go up too much (25m)
However - You have a fallout pot, if three players (60% of the game)
In the event you come in second (Chances are fairly high)
You regain MOST of your buyin, it's nice to have that confort.

After that. - The sixth pot, the first place goes up again
By a fair ammount (50 mil) and, the fallout pot increases to a gain.
So, sure, you may have to now eliminate more players (13% more)
You have the prospect, of, becoming slightly richer, or, hit first place
A rather large ammount more, it's a good win-win situation.

Now, at seven. Once again, first place pot goes up by 75m
Second place pot rises by a bit, 25m - Overall, this is a fairly good
"Two win" situation. Both first and second palce will be happy with a win.

Now, eight. Third pot gets introduced.
The second pot stays the same, first pot gets a bit more (25m)
Second place is still a geat fallout, and, included, is a nice
50 milliopn, third palce pot, to, give consoldance ot the fact that you lived 
-While the other five was defeated. 

Now, the last - First place pot rises quiet a bit, by 50m
Second pot contineus to stay the same, third place gets up to full return
ANd, first place, for winning this great game, is, very high.

That place first gets 75m
Then, next time, 50m
Then, 25.
then, none.
