The Order of the Dark Dragoon The Dragoon Code 1. Introduction Ditched, coming soon 2. The Dragoons The Dragoons themselves are, in these times, a group of warriors that uphold the values and traditions of the Draconian race. As the Draconian race declines, other races have been invited to join the Brotherhood, thus keeping the spirit of the Dragoons alive. 1.Dragoons commit themselves fully to the Dragon Spirit. The Dragon Spirit guides and blesses the Dragoons so long as they continue to pay it homage and uphold its virtues. A Dragoon's greatest wish is that they may get closer to the Dragon Spirit and eventually become one with it. Thus, a Dragoon shall meditate on these things every morning and night. Meditation is a key factor in maintaining one's connection with the Dragon Spirit. 2. The Dragon Knight is the Dragoon closest to the Dragon Spirit. In all matters that require one, the Dragon Knight is the leader of the Dragoons. The Dragon Knight's closeness with the Dragon Spirit grants them abilities beyond that of normal Dragoons. The spirit of the Dragon Knight is passed down through those the Dragon Knights choose to inheret it. If a non-Draconian comes in posession of the spirit, they will begin to themselves take on Draconian qualities. 3.The Dragoons have, in the past, followed a strict code of conduct. In these troubled times, however, such discrepencies as could be made previously cannot be made now, and thus the code has been changed. a) Self-consciousness - A Dragoon is self-conscious of his/her behavior, and can accept both positive and negitive truths about him/herself. A Dragoon shall not be discouraged by truths or reality. Life is both pain and pleasure and a Dragoon must accept this. b) Self-Righteousness - A Dragoon must constantly overcome and better himself for the sake of him/herself, not for the sake of reward. This goes hand-in-hand with self-conciousness. A Dragoon is also to overcome any hardships and any obstacles which may have the intention to drag him/her down. c) Criticism/comments - Dragoons are to communicate with each other frankly and bluntly. Dragoons are not to be intimidated or taken to offense by this, but rather to respect both positive and negative comments. d) Neutrality - The Dragoons have always observed a neutrality in all matters, especially concerning nations. In such times as are being observed now, the lines of good and evil have blurred substantially, and it is no longer possible to observe true neutrality. Thus, neutrality shall be encouraged in all aspects of Dragoon life, but if one sees need to take a side in a particular matter, he or she shall do it. It is recommended that one seeks the counsel of another Dragoon, so they may be sure they do not act in a biased manner. e)Rationale - A Dragoon shall not act without thuroughly considering all possible courses of action. One must observe in all matters a sense of distance from a matter, so that the most logical and neutral path may be taken, and that one will not act incorrectly because of extreme emotion. 4. If a Dragoon strays from the path of the Dragon Spirit, the primary objective of the brotherhood in dealing with the matter shall be to return them to the order. Direct combat should be avoided if at all possible. If it becomes obvious that a former Dragoon has abandoned completely the Dragon Spirit and in this becomes dangerous or a direct enemy of the Dragoons, they may be handled at the discretion of the brotherhood as a whole. On becoming a Dragoon The Brotherhood opens its arms to all who wish to become one with the Dragon Spirit. Through rigorous training and meditation, one can adopt the techniques and customs of the Draconians and unlock a part of their potential they may not have been aware of. a) A Dragoon must begin as a Squire to another Dragoon. A Dragoon may choose one Squire to devote themselves to. When one chooses a Squire, the other Dragoons must be notified. If there is an argument over a choice of a Squire, a meeting will be held to discuss them. If the candidate is found untrustworthy, he may be released from Squireship. b) A Squire shall do as their master tells them to. They shall question only in curiosity, and never with the intention of causing trouble. c) A distinction must be made between Draconian and non-Draconian Squires. A non- Draconian's goal in becoming a Dragoon is to adopt their culture and traditions. As part of their training, a squire will learn Dragoonian fighting styles. However, a non-Draconian will find it much more difficult to connect with the Dragon Spirit, and his or her abilities will not be as those of the Draconians. d) A Squire, near the end of their training, will need to master the ultimate techniques of the Dragoons. Because they utilize the natural anatomy of Dragoons, non-Draconians can only achieve them by their connection with the Dragon Spirit. Because of this, they cannot fully utilize the abilities as the Draconians can. The three abilities required of all full Dragoons are as follows: Dragoon Jump: By using their powerful legs, the Draconians can achieve an amazing jump, ranging anywhere from 10 to 40 feet high, almost as a Dragon taking flight. Non-Draconians as well use leg strength to accomplish this, much of a squire's training spent on increasing it. However, the true power behind their jump is a desire to, above all, reach the Dragon Spirit and become one. Through this, one can propel themself into the air, reaching, on average, about half the hight of a Draconian. Dragoon Dash: This technique is very similar to the Dragoon Jump, but in a forward motion. This requires a larger space to be covered, and is not as versatile. However, unlike a normal charge, a Dragoon can regain their footing quickly, making it a much less wild tactic. This is best used in conjunction with a spear. Dragoon Link: Draconians have a natural telepathy that can be formed between those who become close enough to each other. This is imparted onto non-human Dragoons as well. As long as one remains in the brotherhood, they can communicate with other nearby Dragoons using this. The Dragon Knight posesses a greater ability, and can open his thoughts to multiple Dragoons at once. 3. Dragons Dragons are beasts sacred to the Dragoon Order. The responsibility falls on the Dragoons to protect Dragons wherever it is needed, but also to destroy any Dragons that would threaten peace. The Dragon Den, where the Dragoon's Dragons are kept, is a sacred ground, and any non-Dragoons that tread in its halls is subject to immediate death. Squires may not enter the Den either. In the event of an emergency or attack, the Dragon Den will be most first and most important in securing. Each full Dragoon will get their own Dragon. As the bond between Dragon and Dragoon grow, each will find themselves changing. The nature of these changes are not able to be discussed here, as each Dragoon must discover this on their own. In the event a Dragon is killed or dies, the grandest of ceremonies will be held in its honor. When a Dragon dies, the first month will be one of mourning, and the amount of meditations will be increased for this time.
