Hi Martha,

In being a savvy shopper, I've done a little research to try to get a reduced price on the laptop.

I've come up with the following arguments:

- The dv9000 series was released in July of 2006, making it now a year and a half old, that's a long time in the fast-paced tech world.

- The latest comparable series offered on HP's site is the dv9500, with similar specifications, but with Vista Home Premium is estimated at $1,059.99 (AMD dual core 1.9ghz, 2gb ram, 17" widescreen, 250gb SATA drive, 8x dual layer dvd burner, webcam+mic, etc).

- Vista Home Premium (2007) full edition from Microsoft is $239.95, Media Center Edition (2005) can be bought for $115.

In return for a lower asking price, I can help make the decision to get rid of cable TV an easier one (thus saving in expenses). I have the following to barter with:

Battlestar Galactica - 3 seasons, 1 movie = 59 eps total
Dark Angel - 2 seasons = 40 eps total
Entourage - seasons = 55 eps total
NCIS - 5 seasons = 104 eps total
Scrubs - 7 seasons = 150 eps total
Smallville - 7 seasons = 142 eps total
Star Trek Voyager - 7 seasons = 146 eps total
Stargate Atlantis - 4 seasons = 72 eps total

Let me know what you think, can't blame a girl for trying. ;)

Thanks,

Steph
