I am trying to spoof the source address of my packets on my winxp machine using hping It seems as if it's just not possible because of the way inwhich windows handles spoofing with raw packets and or sockets sorry iam more into unix/linux i have not used windows since it was win 95 I know, so Am i. I am just trying it on windows You familiar with hping ? yes Okay, just to make sure, is my syntax correct ? hping.exe -a 192.168.10.5 -S 192.168.10.2 -p 80 10.2 being the detination box 10.5 being an address that don't exsist yes Yeah, and that should make it show up as SYN_RECIEVED in anetstat -n in windows from teh IP of 10.5 the * Which it has failed to produce lol So i assume that the windows xp sp2 don't allow you to create raw packets or sockets I know if i did this on any nix system it would work yes thats why nix is cool dektop Yeah, I don't use a GUI in linux lol All CLI thats good All of my nix boxes are tied up though, They all hold critical data and I dont want to mess with them using tools like hping and the like well hping is user friendly try to have a box and do pentesting not on windows Yeah I need to get an old machine to use for that
